  • Daily changes of scenic will make you enter into different aura altogether; roaring Rupin river silently passing the villages across, hanging village of Jhaka, amazing views from the overlooking valleys filled with magenta colored Burans (Rhododendron) flowers, isolated villages with just 10 houses sparsely located in the middle of mammoth mountain ranges, beautiful 3 step waterfall jumping out, snow dunes here and there, eagles view of Rupin range of mountains and Kinnaur range from the summit, perfect wallpaper picturesque near Sangla Kanda are breathtaking.

Trek ends at Sangla village.

Travel Path :

Bangalore -- (flight) --> Dehradun -- (car) --> Dhaula (trek start) --> Sewa --> Jhaka --> Saruwas Thatch --> Lower Water Falls --> Upper Water Falls --> Rhontigad --> Sangla (trek ends) -- (car) --> Shimla -- (bus) --> Delhi -- (flight) --> Bangalore.

Information :

  • There is only one bus which starts from Dehradun to Sankri, at 8.00 am in the morning. Get down at Netwar, take a shared jeep to Dhaula from Netwar as the bus continues further up to Sankri. Since the road is not so great, it roughly takes around 6~7 hours to reach Netwar and another 45 minutes to Dhaula.
  • There is always an option to hire a vehicle from Dehradun; Xylo was costing 7500 rupees.
  • The road from Sangla to Shimla was quite good. It takes 6~7 hours to reach Shimla. There is a bus to Shimla from Chitkul at 1.00 pm.
  • There are plenty of buses from Shimla to Delhi, both HimGaurav and HimSutha are good.  Both are AC buses, one from TATA and other from VOLVO.
