Climb the mountains

I reached Suwon on 22nd November, 2013, when autumn had just made the way for winter to take over the Korea peninsula. The trees were almost hibernating, not giving any damn to the falling colorful leaves. Still, a few were kind enough to remind me of the glory of autumn which has just ended. Temperature was hovering around 5~10 °C and was able to reach the bottom line in just another week. Now it's more than one and a half months, temperature is ~ -10 °C. Can not move around easily in this cold weather as i usually thought otherwise! Life is going very good, i am very happy that weather could not checkmate us.

Initial days were mainly to get acquainted with the places near by, for living. There are many shopping complexes, parks near by & sub way station is right in front of the guest house. What to expect more in a city where you just relocated? That's enough i suppose ..

World's busiest metro
Seoul, the capital city is just an hour's travel in subway. The city is clean and good, with a lot of skyscrapers all around. Almost all the developed cities in the world may be similar I guess! The places we visited were almost like a guided tour, an attempt from me to show the city to my wife, with the little knowledge of the places i visited in 2010. Travelling in Seoul or around Seoul is much easier, thanks to their wide reach subway system. Just have the Seoul subway map in hand, decide the places to visit, get the accurate directions from the website and that's done, destination will be right in front of you.

Caution!! Not all is good, Koreans can’t understand/speak English!

Coex Mall Aquarium:
Coex Mall is one of the largest underground shopping mall in Asia & it hosts beautiful aquariums, which is one of South Korea's largest aquariums, with over 40,000 creatures from over 650 species on display. The arrangement of the species are based on a few themes, which makes the visitors attractive & the "undersea tunnel theme" virtually makes you surf through the waves. The deadly creatures of sea life like "Sharks" will be moving around you, just trying their luck of having a better food if the acrylic tunnel cracks!

63 Wax Museum & 63 Sky Deck:
63 City, Korea's one of the famous landmark even for today, which was one of the tallest building in the world on completion in 1985, for the world to see it during 1988 summer Olympics. It doesn't even list in the worlds top 200 sky scrappers of today, yet one of the most recognized building of Seoul. The major attractions for the visitor here are Sea World, Sky Deck, Wax Museum & Imax theater.

The wax museum at the basement of the building was a lot of fun having quite a lot of famous figures craved. Most of the statues were good, resembling the original. The house had a few halls designated for their personalities, thus making them feel home with like minded people around. Einstein greeted us at the veranda, as if to welcome us for the 63 house. As we entered the house, we met a few world leaders including our Gandhi. Unfortunately, Gandhi was terribly upset as he could not be recognized unless a name plate in front of him! Then were the famous contributors for the world music followed by the Last Supper team feasting. The holly wood figures & pop stars were in the middle hall, not maintain their figure hygiene.

The next hall was very dark & ugly creatures were creeping in. We needed a mobile display light to move on, as i had waited to enter it when no people around. It was the horror section & to induce the horror, there should not be much people around. I was successful in that & the beautiful wax near me got afraid :)

Seen this ghost before :)
The sports heroes & the super heroes were worth mentioning, in their own room's eagerly waiting to pose for portraits ..

Don't you ever stare at me!
Sky deck is at the 63rd floor of the building & the ultra fast elevator took us to the top in just 20 seconds. I could feel the height change through my ears needling effect. The over looking, majestic view of the Seoul city was in front of us soon we stepped out of the elevator. Amazing, cant really put in words! just have to feel it!

An attempt to capture the city beside the Han river
